Promote the best quality legal education, promote competence, ethical conduct and professionalism, and promote pro bono and public service by the legal profession.

Increase public understanding of and respect for mediation, the rule of law, the legal process, and the role of the legal profession at home and throughout the world. To also advocate for just laws, including human rights, and a fair and equitable legal process as well as mediation practice and process. Assure meaningful access to justice for all. Preserve the independence of the legal profession and the judiciary.

Types

IMBA’s program memberships are intended for community mediation centres, with an array of benefits structured to amplify your work in the community.

Associate IMBA memberships are intended for volunteer mediators, professional mediators, and others involved or interested in the field of mediation.

Student memberships are intended for full-time students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate or certificate programs with an interest the field of mediation and conflict resolution.

An institutional member represents a local or regional interest group, an institution of higher education, private, not for profit or a governmental institution that desires access to the IMBA support that can advance their work, amplify their voice and provide access to an array of venues that aggregate the wisdom of the field of community mediation.
